A charming little English-speaking village on the banks of the Gatineau River, it is known for its lovely covered bridge that always appears in tourist photos. The heart of the village is full of charming shops, whether you want to sweeten your tooth, have a drink or do some shopping at the general store. There are also a few nice inns, including the Wakefield Mill, a highly recommended establishment located within the confines of Gatineau Park. Wakefield is definitely worth a visit, if only to enjoy the scenery and tranquility.
