Salmon Arm, 108 km east of Kamloops, is a quiet town where golf, water sports and hiking are popular, especially in Shuswap Lake Provincial Park and Copper Island Park. The Adams River, accessible by following the signs north of Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park, offers a breathtaking spectacle every four years: in October, 2 million salmon flock to the river to breed or die. Every first weekend in July, during the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival, the city hosts artists in the R.J. Haney Heritage Park. Its rich culture and beauty make it a destination of choice.
