Covering an area of 48,000 ha, the park is certainly not the most visited in the country, although it offers superb views of the Cordillera and the landscapes of southern Chilean Patagonia. Dominated by a wooded massif, the park has nearly 22,000 ha of age-old alerts and is part of the regional ecosystem of temperate rainforests. However, it is quite difficult to get there. It is necessary to reach the place called Chaqueihua, a few kilometres south of Hornopirén. Then you will have to walk for about 3.5 hours to the entrance; and another three more kilometres to reach the General Pinto Concha Lake, where you can finally camp. Access to the park is free.
