This town has an extra soul, an atmosphere at the end of the world that already announces the natural treasures that await you further south. Its name comes from the Mapundungun language and means "snow oven", a reference to the volcano of the same name that sits in the middle of the landscape. Founded in 1979 and first called Rio Negro, the city stands on the ancient territory of the nomadic Chono people.
