Travel Guide Isla Mechuque

Mechuque is one of the most interesting islands of the Chiloé archipelago, within the Chauques Islas. Here you can discover the most beautiful palafitos (houses on stilts) and a beautiful wooden bridge. To get there, boats leave from Dalcahue (2 hours of navigation). It's beautiful, and far away from the traditional tourist circuit in Chiloé! Note that you can also catch a lancha in Tenaún, on the road to Quemchi (45 min of navigation only). On the spot, you can stay at Orfelina Ruiz (Hospedaje Palafitos), it's not expensive at all, or at the recent Hospedaje María Humilde and eat at the Fogón La Pincoya (fish, seafood and curanto al hoyo).
