Talcahuano is located north of Concepción. As its history shows, it is the first military port of Chile, but also the first industrial port and the first fishing port. One comes to visit its floating museum (the second oldest in the world) whose history is definitely linked to the Pacific War. Two commanders lost their lives on board this ship: Arturo Prat, commander of theEsmeralda, and Michel Grau, Peruvian commander of the Huáscar . There is a certain sweetness of life here and you can enjoy a walk on La Poza, close to the sea, which has some shops and seafood restaurants.
