Capital of the province of Arauco, Lebu is a small and quiet mining town dedicated to fishing and forestry. In Lebu is the Carbonífera Victoria, the last of the large coal mines, after the closure of the Lota, Schwager and Trongol mines. Lebu is an ideal place for sports and outdoor activities. In the area of the Bocalemu lighthouse, the coast offers excellent conditions for surfing and bodyboarding. Playa Grande is more popular for inshore fishing. Finally, boat or kayak trips are also possible to discover the city's surroundings.
