This national park, whose name in Mapudungun means "big jaguar", is located in the mountain range of the same name and has 15 km of trails. One of its main attractions is the Piedra El Aguila, a viewpoint located on a rocky peak that offers a superb view from the ocean to the Andean volcanoes. Another of its attractions is its vegetation, and its forests of araucarias, some of which are more than two thousand years old. This tree is usually located in the Andes. The park presents surprisingly some similarities with those of the Patagonian south: we can find there the "white beard" which decorates the trees and peat bogs.
