This fishing village, completely lost off the Carretera Austral, owes its name to the black-necked swan, the emblematic bird of the region. The Cerro Claudio Gay watches over the pleasant streets and the activity of the port. In front of the village lies Magdalena Island, the second largest in Chile and a little explored national park. Every year, on the last weekend of January, the village is in full swing during the Fiesta del Pescado Frito, the fried fish festival
