The city of Golegã is located in a region with fertile soil irrigated by two rivers, the Tagus and the Almonda. The Lusitano horse is omnipresent in this capital of horse breeding: if you can, come in early November, when the Feira de São Martinho attracts horse lovers from all over Europe! A little outside the city, the beautiful Paúl de Boquilobo nature reserve invites you to discover the swarms of herons that populate the banks of the Tagus (www.pauldoboquilobo.pt). On the other side of the Tagus, you can visit on foot one of the most beautiful villages in the region, Arripiado, which slopes gently down to the river.
