Molina de Aragón is one of the main cities in the northeast of Guadalajara and the capital of the former Molina suzerainty. It has 9,200 inhabitants. It has preserved its medieval center and its imposing walls. The latter houses a 12th-13th century double walled castle with square towers, except for the so-called Aragon tower, which has a pentagonal plan. Worth seeing: the church of San Martín (12th-13th centuries), the church of Santa María la Mayor de San Gil (15th-17th centuries), the convent church of San Francisco (18th century), the convent of Santa Clara (13th century), the Romanesque bridge over the river Gallo, the stately palaces of the 16th-18th centuries, the Jewish quarter and the Moorish quarter.
