The small town of Balatonszárszó (visit the site: www.balatonszarszo.hu), 5 km from Balatonföldvár, is known for its graveyard; indeed, it houses the grave of Attila József, a great poet in tragic history. Rejected by the literary community, his peers, abandoned by his wife, deregistered by the Communist Party, he ended his days by firing under a train on 3 December 1937.
