For visitors going to the Pacific coast or to the Arenal, San Ramón is a pleasant stop. For Ticos, the small town with its mountainous landscape is the city of presidents and poets. Several former presidents of the Republic, including Pepe Figueres, are from there. Some of them still live there. As for the poets, all the people you will meet here are a bit poets... it must be said that San Ramón has a very bucolic atmosphere. Don't hesitate to stop by the market (every Saturday), the museum or the church. Finally, San Ramón has no less than three cigar factories that you can visit!
