To the west of Alajuela, stop at Grecia to change buses for Sarchí (the town of the carretas). Take the opportunity to take a short break and get a feel for the place. You can stop in front of the dark red church, whose metal parts were brought from Belgium in 1890. You will also see that Grecia is a charming and clean little town. Even if it is not particularly obvious, it has been declared "the cleanest city in Latin America", and its inhabitants are particularly proud of it! After about 30 kilometers on the Interamericana, turn right at the "Greek ruins".
