Zarcero is the last town in the north of the one-day trip from Alajuela and is still part of the northern province. At 1,700 meters above sea level, it enjoys a climate that can sometimes be a little cool, which is not unpleasant in the dry season! The city is charming and pleasant to visit. Go and see its gothic church with its white facade and colorful interior, as well as the central park with its famous topiaries, amazingly pruned trees. On another note, the local jams and cheeses are excellent. Enough to enrich your breakfast the next day!
