44 km from San José and 10 minutes northwest of Sarchí, before reaching the Interamericana. This small town, perched at an altitude of 1,000 meters, offers many beautiful views of the valley and the coffee fields. It owes its name to its numerous orange trees from the 19th century(naranja means "orange"). Later, however, they were largely replaced by coffee trees. Before Naranjo, the Colorado River is crossed by an old bridge, built at the end of the 1940s to allow the passage of loads of coffee and sugar cane. It is 80 meters high and nowadays attracts bungee jumpers.
