Under its austere airs, Ulassai is full of tourist and cultural treasures. This typical village in the Ogliastra mountains is a strong advocate of Sardinian culture. The municipality has created a digital center for the conservation of Sardinian poetry as well as a Museum of Contemporary Art of Maria Lai installed in the old train station. But tourists come especially for the impressive waterfalls of Lequarci, the caves Su Marmuri the largest in Europe. The village is also visited by lovers of extreme sports and open-air climbing who enjoy the vertiginous limestone rocks of Tacchi. It has become the central point of climbing in Sardinia.
