Welcome to Paxos! You'll disembark in the island's chic little capital with its pastel-colored houses. Here, 19th-century houses and those rebuilt after the 1953 earthquake are well worth a stroll to the monastery at the top of the village. It's a popular spot, and the quays of Gaïos are unfortunately crowded with souvenir stores and tourists looking for a few hours out and about. It's best to stay at least two days to discover the rest of the island in depth.
