Protected by an Ottoman fortress and by the islet Nissiopi, Sigri is a charming place, still preserved from any tourist exploitation. In addition to the village beach, there are two other beaches a few kilometers away (one on the right, the other on the left), quiet and clean. Outside the village, don't miss the natural history museum and its exhibition spaces that present the petrified forest, classified as a world geopark by UNESCO. 6 km inland from Sigri, the petrified forest is a particularly interesting site of Lesbos: its trees were covered with lava more than 20 million years ago.
