6 km from Eşen, near the village of Minare and 45 km from Fethiye, this archaeological site is the ancient Lycian city Pınara which means, in Lycian language, "round". This name suits well the shape of the rock on which the city is hung. The history of the city is as mysterious as that of Tlos. However, there is evidence that it played an important role in the federation of Lycian cities. At the Roman time, it is equipped with many works of art. It was abandoned in the 9th century. By car, take the main Kaş-Fethhiye road to Eşen then turn right, for 6 km. Or take a bus to Eşen and walk 6 km.
