Situated equidistant from Athens and Alexandria, both port and capital, Kastellorizo is the only village on the island of the same name. Despite its small size, Kastellorizo boasts a number of different atmospheres. The main port is the island's showcase, with its narrow streets of neoclassical houses often abandoned as soon as you leave the clear water quays. The fishing port of Mandraki is much more discreet, with its well-mannered boats and small houses. Between the two, Horafia is the green heart of the village. Don't miss the coastal path linking the two harbours: sheer to the sea, it makes for a romantic stroll. Beyond the inhabited village, the island offers a number of secluded sites of interest, accessible on foot or by water cab from the port.
