The superb National Library building combines modern functionality with neo-classical architecture of colonial inspiration. Founded in 1910 and installed there since 1994, the National Library retains nearly 25 000 volumes. If you want to make a paper call on a city trip, the free reading section lets you browse many French magazines and books in a soothing atmosphere. In the same building of 6 700 m ² (renovated in 2016), the national museum of history (closed until further order) is located. The first floor houses the offices of the Minister of Culture and Youth, the Conservatory of Music and the Archives of the State, while on the west side of the building sits the National Assembly.

C'est très bien et il fait froid à l'intérieur mais la dernière fois que j'ai voulu aller avec mes cousins, il y avait une méchante dame à l'avant qui nous criait dessus parce que nous n'avions pas le même âge, il y avait 9, 10, 10, 13 et 13 ans. Elle ne nous laissait pas aller au même endroit quand j'ai rencontré le même endroit, c'était du côté des enfants, alors nous sommes partis
