Population approx. 300. The health resort of Čatez ob Savi, just a few kilometers from Brežice, is one of the most renowned in the country. The village was first mentioned in 1249. The hot springs were discovered at the end of the 18th century, but their existence was subsequently forgotten as they disappeared due to flooding on the Sava. In the mid-19th century, the springs, then owned by the aristocratic Attems family, were rediscovered and brought up to date. Today, Terme Čatež is the country's most visited spa, offering a multitude of relaxing activities, from treatments to recreation.
