This tiny village of barely 300 souls is worth the detour for its relatively well-preserved medieval architecture as well as its postcard landscape, in the middle of vineyards and orchards. The Italian influence can be felt, it must be said that the border is only a few kilometres away. Long considered a major regional economic centre, Kojkso lost its reputation during the 20th century. Today, the village is less dynamic and relies on its wine-growing and heritage qualities, notably its two charming churches of the Assumption and Holy Cross, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries respectively.
