Nova Gorica has a population of 13,000. A new town built according to the principles of Le Corbusier since 1948. The previous year, a demarcation line between Italy and Yugoslavia had just been established following the signing of a peace agreement in Paris: Gorizia was definitively allocated to Italy and Yugoslavia began the development of its Nova Gorica. Gorizia is an ideal place for gamblers and cultural enthusiasts alike. The country's largest casino is here. On December 18, 2020, the two border towns of Nova Gorica and Gorizia were named European Capital of Culture 2025.
