On the road to Morfou, close to the demarcation line, 32 km west of Nicosia, Peristerona (Περιστερώνα/Peristerona in Greek, Peristerona in Turkish) is located in the plain, on the banks of the river that bears its name, at the crossroads with the road leading up to the monastery of Agios Panteleimon. This village of 2,000 inhabitants is worth a stop for its two beautiful religious buildings, an Orthodox church and a mosque.
