Dubbed the "golden land" (Chrysochous), so as not to be confused with two other villages of the same name near Nicosia and in the northern zone, Peristerona enjoys a beautiful setting, between the bay of Chrysochous and the Troodos massif, which begins immediately to the east. For a long time, Peristerona and its neighboring villages have remained untouched by tourism, but now they have begun to transform old houses into charming accommodations. The aptly named Harma Suites are a case in point. And 6 km to the south-east, in the middle of nowhere, near Sarama, the offer is expanding with a well-kept campsite and unusual Mongolian yurts. So you can come here to recharge your batteries, close to the hustle and bustle of the seaside, but in a quiet, pleasant setting and for much less than on the coast. In the center of Peristerona, you'll discover precious medieval icons in the diocesan museum. Nearby? A small artificial lake classified as a Natura 2000 site, or sumptuous views from the belvedere of the "Eagles' Nest" gorge. As for the restaurants, they remain authentic with simple, tasty Cypriot cuisine.
