14 km south-west of Nicosia following the Pedieios River, there is the church Panagia Krysospiliotissa ("Virgin of the Golden Grotto"), a kind of troglodytic chapel dedicated to the Virgin. We used to go there to give thanks and ask for rain. It is regrettable, however, that the interior of the chapel, particularly the mural paintings, could not have been better preserved. A fair, on August 15, celebrates the religious festival.Let's go. The village of Deftera is served by bus line no 157 coming from the Solomos square in the direction of Arediou. Service from Monday to Friday (one bus every 20-50 minutes), on weekends from 6 am to 6 pm (one bus per hour approximately). The journey takes 50 minutes.
