The church is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 16 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 16 pm, closed on Mondays and holidays. This stunning and surprising little church is the most frequented in the vicinity of Kakopetria. It is located 3 km west of the village, on the road leading to Pedoulas.Very old (early th century), it is covered with a double slope roof over its original dome roof. This roof gives it all its originality and the name of the place itself is inspired (Tis Stegis means "from the roof"). So hide the dome, it gives the religious building, the look of an old mountain farm. The result is amazing, rustic and really superb.For a few centuries, she had a monastic vocation, extinguished in the th century, before her environs were devolved by the Church to a youth camp. The interior of the church is decorated with remarkable frescoes, covering a very large period of some six centuries. Less known than Asinou, for example, this collection is one of the most impressive in Cyprus.The originality of architecture and exterior paintings have earned Saint-Nicolas-du-Toit to be inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
