Up Arnold Drive, you'll come upon this peaceful village north of Sonoma, in the Valley of the Moon, named after the wife of a pioneer who settled here in 1859. It was here that Jack London decided to drop anchor at the end of his short life. He is buried here and a small museum is dedicated to him in a park that bears his name. A visit to one of the prettiest villages in the Wine Valley is sure to bring you peace and quiet, even if in 2017 it was the site of one of the most devastating wildfires in the state of California in recent decades, destroying almost 200 of Glen Ellen's homes.
