A small seaside town on the Pacific Ocean, Pacifica's main asset is its proximity to downtown San Francisco. In fact, it's the first town on the Pacific south of San Francisco to be reached by Route 1; it takes just half an hour to get there and enjoy the sea breeze. Many surfers come to explore the 10 km of beach with its splendid views, and usually train from the edge of Rockaway Beach. You can also take a stroll along the jetty, or enjoy mountain biking or long nature walks in the surrounding hills. The international airport is nearby.
