Eighteen kilometers north of San Francisco, this 226-hectare park allows you to hike among the redwoods, the thousand-year-old coastal redwoods. Naturalist John Muir (1838-1914) was one of the first to recognize the importance of forests in the ecosystem, calling them " fountains of life. The tour takes place on a paved path, sometimes on boards to protect the young growth.
