15 km north of Napa lies the small town of Yountville. It's hard to understand why so many great restaurants have set up shop here, starting with Thomas Keller's famous three-Michelin-starred The French Laundry, because the town lacks interest. Too clean! Banks, well-kept gardens, not an inch of dust or dirt... Stop off for lunch or dinner, but we'd advise you to sleep elsewhere. Oh yes, there's an 18-hole golf course if you like to hit the ball, and the Lincoln Theatre hosts performances by the Napa Regional Dance Company.
