Helensville is located 50 km northwest of Auckland Centre, near the mouth of the Kaipara River, south of Kaipara Harbour. It was the centre of a region, very densely populated by the Maori, attracted by Kaipara Harbour, which was rich in fish. The first Europeans, arrived in 1863, took refuge in the exploitation of the Kauri Trees. Helensville holds his name from the woman of one of the first settlers. The centre of a region with an agricultural vocation, the city is also famous for the Thermal Resort of Parakai, less than 10 km away. This region has remained very wild, and its farm is limited to a few vineyards.
