The village is located on the Baltic coast and is surrounded by beautiful pine forests. From the 18th to the 19th century, the fishermen of the lagoon came here to sell their fish. The cultural centre (✆ + 370 44 14 73 79) presents the work of the philosopher Vudūnas. An ornithological station was created in 1929 by Tadas Ivanauskas. In the village there is a beautiful church dating from 1705.
