With its high mountains and peaks reaching 2,167 m, it is part of the Subbética mountain range. In its steep rocky outcrops, you'll find a few endemic plants, but it's mainly home to eagles and falcons, as well as wild boar and goats. On the outskirts, you'll find some remarkable villages, such as Jimena (to the north), which makes excellent raisin and pine nut desserts; Cambil (to the south-west), a former stronghold of Al-Andalus; Huelma (to the south), which boasts an ancient Jewish quarter; Mancha Real and its well-kept surroundings; or Torres (to the north-west), renowned for its cherry orchards.
