316 kilometres from the west of Jaén (by the A), the city is surmounted by the sanctuary of Señora Nuestra de la Villa, which was erected immediately after the recovery in the th century. Martos is located on the green del Aceite (the Green Road of Olive Oil), a good 55 km cycle route linking Jaén to Campo Real (province of Córdoba) by following a railway line built between 1882 and 1893, now abandoned.
