Hamat Gader is a place located 7,5 km south-east of Lake Tiberias in the very beautiful valley of Yarmouk, a tributary of the Jordan river which is the Jordanian border here. Its name means «hot springs of Gadara», Gadara being an ancient city that was 4 km east, in Jordan (today it is Umms quays). There are sources of hot water known in Roman times for their therapeutic properties. The site, which is eminently tourist, includes a complex that offers access to the thermal waters as well as several attractions or points of interest (mini zoo, water park, Roman baths…).
