A more or less public site that offers a covered passageway between two building courtyards to cross from one street to another.
More or less open to the public, they can be visited by taking a stroll from Vieux Lyon to Croix-Rousse. The term comes from two Latin words: trans and ambulare, meaning "to pass through". These covered passages between two building courtyards allow you to move from one street to another. In Vieux Lyon, the Renaissance traboules form a dense network of passageways for people and goods. In Croix-Rousse, 19th-century traboules enabled silk fabrics to be transported without getting wet. Stroll with or without a guide.

Les traboules sont caractéristiques de la ville de Lyon et plus particulièrement du Vieux-Lyon et des pentes de la Croix Rousse. Aujourd'hui référencées et balisées, on y pénètre en poussant la porte d'un immeuble. On se trouve alors transporté, tel un intrus, dans un passage hors du temps qui nous mène d'une rue à une autre, en passant sous un immeuble. Certaines traboules sont parfois ponctuées d'une cour et d'un (magnifique) escalier. La tranquillité et la fraicheur de ces lieux sont appréciables!

Vous trouverez de nombreuses traboule (passage plus ou moins secret 0 entre deux immeuble . Ces sorte de tunnel sont nombreux dans tout le vieu Lyon ! A faire quand vous visiterez ce quartier!
