A space to discover the great adventure of five centuries of Lyonnais silk and Jacquard's invention.

Master weavers of gold, silver and silk threads, the Canuts' ingenuity and hard work shaped part of Lyon's history and the history of France, and led to the first workers' revolts in the early ^19th century. Three exhibition rooms explain everything about the Canuts and the Fabrique, the name of Lyon's silk industry. Guided tours include a weaving demonstration. A skill you can take home with you with Philéone fashion accessories, a brand of the Maison des Canuts.

Opening time and information on THE HOUSE OF CANUTS

Open Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm. Guided tours at fixed times, please enquire. Visits by appointment for groups of 10 or more and school groups. Prices for guided tours: €10/adult, €7/school or student. Free for children under 11. Self-guided tours: €3/adult, €1.50/school or student, free for children under 11. Included with Lyon City Card. Tickets can be purchased online on the website.

Interesting but very small, and feel more an association’s exhibition than a legit museum if I can completely honest. The little store in the newt room is nice. If you decide to go, don’t forget to book the tour, it will probably be more insightful.

Nettes kleines Mini Museum. Gute Ergänzung bei einem Besuch des Croix Rousse.
Es gibt auch Weberei Vorführungen, da muss man sich informieren.

Small museum but lots if interesting information about the technological advancements in silk weaving after coming to Lyon. Written translations available in many languages.
