A small village where some remains of a 14th century watchtower and an imposing castle (guided tours in summer) flanked by two round towers still remain. For Antoine Mauduit, famous resistance fighter and founder of the Chaîne movement, and all the resistance fighters who passed through here, notably Arno Klarsfeld (Serge's father) and a certain François Mitterrand, a memory to be revived in the Romanesque chapel of Sainte-Philomène, on the road to Gap, where he is buried. The famous novelist Pierre-Alexis Ponson du Terrail, author of Rocambole, was born in the family manor in 1829.
