BISTROT L'HORLOGE

Bar and caf
4.8/5
4 reviews

This cafe-bar-restaurant surmounted by a clock, which makes the corner between the course of Estienne-d'Orves and the rue Breteils, has a beautiful terrace that attracts a fairly eclectic clientele. You can also install inside, but beware, there are not many places. Since its opening in 2013, the owners (of the café opposite, The Pointu) have been able to renew the place and its kitchen. In addition to having a drink (an antifungal cocktail, a mojito, or a glass of wine - the original card, which is also to be discovered inside the bistro!), you can eat it (tapas, pork plates) or eat it more consistently, and very well: tender and bone bones, seven-hour roasted lamb and vegetables, or the famous slut salad with its gizzards and poultry livers. Slate changes regularly! The heart of! is the perfect place for your palate! A pretty little address. Note that evenings are often organized with neighbors across the way during the summer!

BAR DES MARAICHERS

Bar and caf
5/5
1 review

In this neighbourhood bistro in La Plaine, there's no fuss: you simply come to drink a cup, chat with friends, listen to live music in the evening when a concert is scheduled... The decor is sober, even atypical, with this reproduction of the "Last Supper". On the music side, behind the small stage, Brassens, Brel and Ferré are at home here and rub shoulders with some jazzy flights of fancy ... For a long time called "Chez Hassan", this bar has however had a new owner for a few years now. He regularly organises concerts with local artists. This bar is anchored in the popular culture of Marseille and is notably quoted in the famous Marseille trilogy of Izzo.

TEAVORA

Coffee shop and tea room
3.3/5
6 reviews

The tea lovers meeting on Longchamp Boulevard. Teavora, in addition to offering a wide selection of teas from the 4 corners of the world, offers an exotic and relaxing atmosphere. As soon as we get there, we're invited to take off his shoes and move on the sand. Then choose three different atmospheres, including the Berber tent, but also a décor of the islands or an appointment in India in a tastefully decorated room. Almost 80 teas to taste, infusions, tisanes, but it's not just hot… fresh fruit juice and smoothies too. Home pastries will accompany this moment of softness. For lunch, we'll opt for salads or salads. You can enjoy a trip to the city center.

LA FRÉQUENCE

Cocktail bar
Closed - Open to 16h00

Halfway between the Palais Longchamp and the Réformés, a new bar has been opened to liven up the pleasant boulevard Longchamp. A beautiful, wide terrace for a new establishment opened by a young team eager to offer a place where having a drink rhymes with conviviality between friends and tasting aperitif platters on the go. It's a great concept and a real hit with a young clientele who have become fans of the restaurant's excellent cocktails. At lunchtime, we serve a burrata, a sandwich of the day and a few simple suggestions on the slate. A friendly, smiling welcome, a fine wine list and live music at weekends.

DEÏA COFFEE & KITCHEN

Coffee shop and tea room

Trendy coffee shop in the Opera district. A café that has become one of the most fashionable in the city. A neat decoration and in the air of time, plunging plants, light wood, space and a cosy feeling which already conquered more than one curious. Deïa's program includes coffee specialties, lattes (including amazing beet and charcoal colored ones), food from breakfast to lunch and the possibility of brunches all day long. Bowls, salads, healthy sandwiches, it's well done and totally in tune with the times. An address to discover and to adopt without delay. The only regret is that the atmosphere is a bit too "influencer" of the clientele, more busy taking pictures than having a good time.

HOLIS'TEA

Coffee shop and tea room

At the bottom of the Cours Franklin-Roosevelt, a discreet address that deserves to be known, a few steps from the Réformés. Behind an attractive frontage, we enter a rather surprising café, with its counter and the smiling welcome of the owner, then a room in enfilade where you can enjoy your coffee, tea or pastry on a sofa or on cushions. A Zen place, which offers teas and herbal teas, ayurvedic infusions and homemade blends, some with CBD. On the pastry side, gluten-free, vegan, classic, all homemade by the chef, just like the quiches and cakes served for lunch. We like to spend a relaxing and greedy moment there.

LA BOUTIQUE DU GLACIER

Coffee shop and tea room

Discover or rediscover one of the oldest tea rooms in Marseille: the Boutique du Glacier. This old address, where many Marseillais have sweet memories, stands the test of time and offers you excellent sweets whose reputation is well established: home-made ice creams, excellent pure butter pastries, the famous caramel cake, but also a fine selection of teas and a very good hot chocolate. Very local and faithful customers, tea room atmosphere as we like it. To be discovered or rediscovered during a shopping break as it is only a stone's throw away from the shops in the town centre! The place is also famous for its breakfasts.

DEEP COFFEE ROASTERS

Coffee shop and tea room

Located just a stone's throw from the Old Port, this small café is a real landmark for lovers of good coffee in Marseille. Owned by the same owner as the Green Bear Coffee, it is a place of North American inspiration, with a hushed atmosphere and refined furniture. You come here to spend a moment with friends or to work on your computer. Some very good vintages roasted on the spot, from Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua or even Myanmar and Ethiopia. Don't hesitate to tell us your preferences and we'll advise you on the coffee you need. For those who do not like caffeine, there are hot drinks such as Matcha Latte or Chai Latte. CAFÉS DEBOUT

Coffee shop and tea room

Good coffee and good tea, sitting or standing, inside or on the terrace, this is what this historic tea/tea shop in Marseille offers! Created by the Standing Family in 1932, the Standing Café is now one of the last rotations of the Phocéean city. The grain bags and the time mills are there to testify. Cafes come from the most famous countries: Guatemala, Brazil, India, Bolivia, Jamaica, Kenya, Burma, Papua… Also, a wide choice of teas (Darjeeling, Ceylan, Earl Gray, China, Japan…) or perfumed. In summer, choose Mangajo iced tea, apple grenade or lemon apple. Don't miss a little softness: Shuttle, home cookie, the famous Fouque nougat or still to test absolutely, the Marseilles bar of the Standing Café, a bar of black chocolate, milk or nougatine! The staff is always friendly. Discover or rediscover!

CAFÉ POLLUX

Coffee shop and tea room

The Longchamp district is rich in good addresses, but it was lacking a coffee-shop worthy of the name where you could enjoy good specialty coffees at any hour, complemented by a pastry or lunch on the go. That's exactly what the young couple behind Pollux thought. Two conversions later, we find ourselves in a café with a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. It's like being in northern Europe or the United States, but with the conviviality that makes our city so charming. Local coffees from Brûlerie Moka in particular.

LA GROUPIE DU PIANISTE

Piano bar

The opening of this new night bar was a real event in spring 2023. A name inspired by the song of the same name by Michel Berger, but an interior decoration with a Gatsby and Roaring Twenties feel. In the center of this bar, a superb piano of course. All this is very successful, the atmosphere is both hushed and festive. Every evening of the week, different parties, disco funk on Tuesday, 80's on Thursday and 90's house music on Friday. Everybody rushes there, the success is there. On the catering side, you can enjoy Damien Delgado's casseroles from the neighboring La Poule Noire. Choice of cocktails with evocative names: Resist, Some words of love...

ÉCLECTIQUE

Coffee shop and tea room

Classifying this place was very difficult because as its name indicates, it is a place that can be described as eclectic! Halfway between a coffee-shop and a beer cellar, you can come here to have a coffee or share an aperitif with friends. It's a café that we like to visit at any time of the day. At lunchtime, you can eat a dish of the day. For the snack, pastries, cookies very tasty. Finally a selection of craft beers will delight you. Young and family clientele at the same time. We love the colourful and quiet terrace.

IVRESSE

Wine bar

This new wine bar opened at the end of July 2022, a stone's throw from the boulevard de la LIbération, near the Longchamp district. It is in an old workshop (whose facade has been preserved) that one comes to taste astonishing vintages, living, natural wines, coming from Catalonia, Germany and elsewhere. Two small tables on the street, a little more inside. A large counter and a bar atmosphere in a garage quite surprising but quite pleasant. To accompany your wine, which will be very well advised by the young owner from Avignon, small cold plates of cold meats or vegetarian. Young and trendy clientele. Nice address in the neighborhood.

With a guaranteed fluorescent atmosphere and themed decor featuring posters, goodies and retro video games, you're in for a real childhood experience, and we have to say it's a real success. Totally unique in the region and unheard of in France, the famous living room from the American series The Simpsons has been recreated. There's a great atmosphere at the bar, with sports broadcasts and a fine selection of tapas in the evening. You won't soon be able to do without it.
