This village will charm you with its history, largely linked to that of its forest. It is from a chapel of the priory and the millstones, which were extracted from the forest, that the village takes its name. The latter were very famous under the Ancien Régime since they were considered the best in the kingdom. The extraction was for a long time the main activity of the village. At the end of the 17th century the exploitation, which ruined the forest, ceased. Today the forest is the largest forest in the Vienne, which has earned it the nickname of "green lung" of the department. The village church is also worth a visit!
