The site of Parcé-sur-Sarthe has been occupied for a long time since the indications of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Martin chapels prove its existence from the th and th centuries. Destroyed by the English during the Hundred Years War - the Saint Peter Tower which still dominates it was the only building saved - the village is reconstructed by its inhabitants with the stones of the ancient fortifications. Thus, Parcé still has many old houses. They have been restored mainly from the th and th centuries, and the village has a homogeneous architectural ensemble. The banks of the Sarthe and the dam are very picturesque. For a guided tour, please contact the tourist office of Sablé-sur-Sarthe.
