Châteauneuf-sur-Sarthe is a town with its feet in the water! In fact, most of the explanatory panels dedicated to the main buildings of the town are installed... on the bridge! But you will also find them on the towpaths or near the lime kilns, while you look for the traces of the old feudal castle with clods or admire, from the road, the few private castles of the commune. If you reach the town after having walked the GRP des Basses vallées from Angers (Châteauneuf is the terminus), you will find everything you need to rest your legs and prolong the calm of the walk.
