The Musée du gâteau basque (in Sare) also has a store in Ainhoa, one of France's most beautiful villages. Here you'll find the artisanal excellence of its pastry chefs, with Basque cakes, shortbread, macaroons, almond croquants, puff pastries and sheep's cheese shortbread. All handmade with local produce. Before or after a hike, take a sweet and savoury break on the shady terrace or in the "jardin du curé" behind the store. Open April to November, 9am to 6.30pm. Sweet and savoury break with Le Musée du Gâteau Basque. Artisan producer. Terrace and group reception with private tasting (20 pers. max.). Workshop with 2 pastry chefs, €20/2h on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4:30 pm, by prior arrangement. On site/takeaway. Languages spoken: French, English, Basque, Spanish.
