A former fortress belonging to the bishopric of Toul, Void Vacon has weathered the centuries through the course of history. All that remains of this past are the two remnants of the castle, the Tour aux Pigeons and the Poterne, formerly the entrance, both dating from the 14th century. In the heart of the village, the former halles (covered market) are remarkable for their 28 columns, taken from an ancient temple. Their date of construction is not well known, but they were already in existence at the time of the French Revolution, and are still home to the market today. A lovely stroll around the village takes you through charming little streets. For further information: www.void-vacon.fr
