Hagéville is particularly famous for its aerodrome, from which the colorful hot-air balloons take off across the Lorraine countryside. Since 1989, the Chambley site, a former NATO base, has hosted the world's largest hot-air balloon gathering every two years. The program includes a variety of events offering a colorful spectacle: the Mondial Air Ballon, which brings together over fifty countries, and the Montgolfiades, which take place in Metz in September. Twice a day, several hot-air balloons take to the skies before the astonished eyes of spectators awaiting this special moment on the lake.
