At 12 km from Vinça, at the height of the Lentilla valley, at 600 m above sea level, dominated by peaks culminating in 1 700 m. Baillestavy is in the heart of the Canigó massif. This is the starting point for many walks with kilometres of trails through the forests of oaks, beech, birch and fir. You can discover the pastures of the Canigó by browsing the ridge paths. The village's long mining past left many footprints. One of the mines was also dated the th century B.C., which makes it the oldest mining of iron ore in France. Every year, the third Sunday in September, we celebrate the Catalan donkey, the Festa del Burro Català.
