Little is known about the origins of this commune, which includes the village, part of the hamlet of Pilvernier, several farms and the Bois de Gramont. However, in 1207, it is mentioned in the Cartulaire de Montmartre, although it must have depended on Château-Landon. This charming village, planted among fields of wheat, barley and beet, boasts a rich heritage, including the 12th-century church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, which houses a 17th-century bell and 3 tombs, both of which are listed as protected movable objects. Last but not least, with its omnipresent agricultural activity, the village tends to promote local products.
